  • Experience and Specialties

I have over 11 years of experience providing psychotherapy for adults struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions and grief and loss. I have also worked extensively with the issues that challenge young adults, beginning with my employment at Georgetown University’s Counseling Center, and continuing in my private practice in downtown Washington, DC. Prior to becoming a Psychologist, I have extensive experience working in a business setting, thus I have an in-depth understanding of work-related stressors and career change issues.

I have attained a post-graduate certificate in AD/HD and am affiliated with the Adult ADHD Center of Washington. I have specialized experience in understanding the unique challenges of adults with this and other executive functioning challenges, such as disorganization, lateness, procrastination, and distractibility  I can provide initial diagnostic screening for this diagnosis, short-term, goal-oriented coaching for people who are challenged in meeting their full potential, as well as psychotherapy for self-esteem issues that can arise from struggling with AD/HD. I can help clients with AD/HD identify their unique strengths which they can utilize for greater self-understanding, life enrichment, and success. The Adult ADHD Center of Washington additionally offers support groups that address understanding the impact of AD/HD on your life and functioning, and working to set goals to address specific challenges. The Center also offers a half day workshop for couples whose relationships are challenged by ADHD in one or both partners.  In depth psychoeducational testing is also offered by the Center for clients with AD/HD and/or co-occurring diagnoses for greater self-understanding, or who may be seeking academic accommodations.

In my work at The Women's Center, I provided individual and group therapy for women facing separation and divorce, and have continued to work with people struggling with separation decisions and transitions in my private practice.

I have experience with helping clients navigate the emotional aspects of undergoing infertility treatment. I can also be helpful in counseling individuals and couples (gay or straight) who are making decisions about additional fertility treatments, adoption, or living childfree.
